those would have still existed since soju and bbq are part of the entire Korean tradition. I'd say the quality may have been lacking in other countries due to lack of exposure / competition if Korea as whole were so isolated like Nk was, but would have still existed.
Pyongyang in North was the original capital of Korea before the Japanese occupied right before ww2. North was industrialized and South were mainly agricultural until modern day, the tables turned drastically.
As economy and eveything started o boom in the South, and kept on progressing, time has completely stopped in North Korea.
It really wouldn't look out of place if it was the 1960s and NK were looking the same they do today, doing the same things they do today.
