Is that like a Gameboy of sorts?
These are the answers I'm seeking. As far as I know it's like a Consol with a tablet slot in the middle with 2 controllers. You can hook it up to your tv and play like normal or take the tablet thing out and play on the go. I'm looking for somebody who's played to give up some better details.
Can Nintendo not ever make a serious console?
I got it, its good. First party games are great. 3rd party support is coming. Doom just launched on it and its getting good reviews. Touch screen and the remotes are like the wii as you have motion control.
I do things like visit parks and different places. Hubby does the ones were you are in a civil war battle, etc. I can't do the roller coasters and things like that. I get nauseous. But even the fixed position ones, I'm with you, I can't stay in it long.I can't see it being healthy to be in VR for too long. I can't stand it after a few minutes
Having everyone hooked to their phones these days is bad enough, I shudder at the thought of as many people strapped into VR
freaky.
I would try VR MarioKart though, that could get dangerous lol

The lack of games is the only problem

Mario odysse got great review. I have it but been so busy I haven't even taken it out of the box yet
You can also get a pro controller which feels better than the 2 remotes put together
But it's 90bux

I am a pc gamer over all of these consoles. I look at the hardware, and with Nintendo I havent been impressed. You get a tablet and a bunch of accesories, and a lower performance than let's say the xboxone or PS4. Nintendo is a lot of paying for the brand name, or paying for the Mario franchise. So that is what worries me. Did Wii was great but quickly started gathering dust.
Try playing the console instead of just looking at the specs

Ps4 is good, I kept that
Was only a pc gamer years ago when doom and wolfenstisn 1st came out

With the switch I can be playing a game, my kid and wife get home and want to watch a tv show.
I can just pull the switch out of the dock and keep playing
Stuff like that won't matter to certain people

The wii also had nearly zero 3rd party games, same problem GameCube had
The wii was mostly novelty but it was fun
The switch is actually going to be getting 3rd party support, it did take a bit to starter and get the deals announced though
This is the big difference between other Nintendo consoles
You are right about the specs but seriously you should give it a try even with the limited specs
Tell them to watch in the fucking kitchen. You are the man of the house, get the belt out if you have to.
Not douchy at all. Just trying to see if it's worth it getting it for my kid. Other options are Nintendo DS, or XBoxone, or build a pc for him.

Xbox I literally gave to my dad because I hardly used it, always use my ps4 before the Xbox for some reason
If you already have a ps4 don't bother with the Xbox imo
If no ps4 and he prefers Xbox over PlayStation then it's a good system
Can get them discounted on the auction as well
Building a pc will be way more expensive but as you already know, the specs will destroy consoles and steam is the shit
If the kid is just into having fun then the switch is awesome
You are going to have some framerate issues but it really doesn't hinder the games (will be annoying if coming from 60fps though)
The real advantage is being able to pull it out of the dock and still have incredible gameplay
I had a ps vita and gave it away because I didn't use it, the switch destroys the vita but also a lot more
I saw a switch go on the auction for around 300 last night
You guessed it, already a PS4. I like it a lot. And no not in Canadia here.
