For me it's the 400m. Lacks the explosive athleticism of the 100m/200m dashes and the stamina and pacing requirements of the 800m. Always thought it was pointless.

Those stupid chariot races where the horses have to trot. They aren't allowed to have all their feet off the ground at the same time.
What's the fucking point? It's like speed walking for horses. They are majestic animals. Let them run wild. If you ain't got the balls to hang onto the chariot while that motherfucker gets up to 40 mph, move the fuck over. Pussy.
And get rid of the poop catcher on back of the horses too. Taking a load of shit to the face at high speed would make it more exciting. They are wearing goggles for fucks sake. Just keep your mouth closed.

I got free tickets to one once, it was pretty fun. it was 100+ degrees though, we'd brought a cooler of Gatorade in & we were dying, but the rednecks next to us there were pounding cheap beer like water & they were going strong. they were all Dale Jr. fans & he led one lap & when he came around the corner we were sitting they all stood up, held their beer up in salute & screamed 'WOOOO.' rest of the time they just sat down, didn't talk & drank. only time they moved was to reach in their cooler for another beer. didn't care for the rules of the race, there was one driver that kept opening up a 3/4ths of a lap lead numerous times but a caution flag or something would come out & they kept bunching them all back up, didn't seem fair. tried watching one on tv once though & fell asleep, I agree it should go
It's done now. It was okay not brilliant but I got a good vibe. I don't think it will be for the role I interviewed for either, he flouted another position I'd like a lot more and the head of that division (who was in the room too) seemed to agree.
I had to be escorted back to the main entrance and the guy who walked me out (also in the interview) was selling it to me, saying this original influx of guys will go on to more supervisor roles down the line etc.
Then it turned out we both had a mutual friend who I was in the Navy with, one of my first mentors. I've got my fingers crossed he calls him and asks about me, he's a good dude and basically taught me my craft
