After nearly 16 years as a professional MMA fighter, longtime flyweight contender Ian McCall is hanging up the gloves for good.

On Monday’s latest episode of The MMA Hour, “Uncle Creepy” confirmed his retirement, two weeks removed from a nine-second KO loss to Kyoji Horiguchi at RIZIN FF 9.

“I’m retiring finally, I think people have been waiting for this for a long time,” McCall said. “I’m done. This sport has taken so much from me — I shouldn’t say it’s taken, I’ve given this sport so much. And sure, I was the best in the world years ago and sure, people keep bringing up my ‘Al Bundy’ moment about beating Demetrious (Johnson), ‘Oh, you’re the guy, blah blah…

Last several years of his career maligned by injuries. Ton of potential, ton of bad luck.

That sounds like it's gonna be one of those two-month retirement things lol

Wish him the best whether it's a true retirement or not.
He'll find success whatever he does as he's clearly a likable enough guy.

Loved his fight with MM, but the more I learned about him the harder it was to be a fan.

Hope he's learned too and wish him luck.

FYI Ian's last fight:

So I can understand why he might think he wants to retire, I just don't think it's gonna last.

He beat Mighty Mouse’s ass but coasted in the last rounds and thank fuck the judges recognised that bullshit
Sorry for this but:
He also used to bully people and attack people in a gang so I don’t feel bad for him in any way tbh..........

The problem with some of these guys staying retired is that this is their job. I know its fighting and always has a shelf life but for these guys this is punching the clock (no pun intended) for them. What do they do if they dont fight? Not everyone can open a gym and be a coach or do what Brian Stann did.

I remember when Jenna said she was done with porn, and Howard Stern said I think porn is done with her. Parallels.
