I'm hoping they do something about getting a replacement for Bird at first, I just change the channel whenever he comes up to the plate anymore

He's so damned frustrating.
On top of the 7,000 injuries he's always dealing with... He'll have 1 game where he looks like the stud everyone expected and hope he would be and then he'll follow that up with 4 games where he's completely useless at the plate. Tonight is one of those useless nights.
6 AB's & didn't reach base once, he's worse than a replacement player. I think Cashman realizes they don't have enough starting pitching to make a serious run & don't want to give up prospects for rentals this year

IIRC, Seattle had nine when they set the win record.
It was 1997 when they had nine. They set the win record in 2001, then lost to the Yankees in the playoffs.
