One of the best college games I've seen that I didn't have a rooting interest in, other than the fact I'm tired of seeing Alabama in the CFP.
It wasn't without controversy.
At the end of the 1st half, Auburn connect for a pretty large play as time was running down. They got a first down - which does stop the clock - but it's a running clock. The clock stops momentarily until the ref puts the ball back in play, then it runs again. But the clock ran to 0 and the Auburn sideline went nuts and the refs reviewed the play - effectively giving Auburn a timeout and time to get their FG team ready. The refs ruled there was 1 second left and allowed Auburn to get a snap off with their FG team out there. A successful 52 yarder in a game that ended up being decided by 3 points.

Then Auburn had some trickery at the end of the game. They had their punter come out and Bama sent out the punt return team, but then Auburn lined the punter up as a WR and still had their QB on the field. Bama went to sub their regular defense back in, but in the confusion ended up with 12 men on the field because their returner was still on the field. The penalty gave Auburn a 1st down and they ran out the clock from there.
Auburn coach Gus Malzahn outsmarted the great Saban.

My take on these two issues:
End of the 1st half was total bullshit. Saban has every right to be pissed.
End of the game is 100% OK. Great strategy by Malzahn.

Yes, I think so. A two loss Georgia isn't getting in the playoff. Ohio State vs LSU is gonna be epic .
