You are 100% correct.

If it was a relative I would definitely want vengeance. But since I'm not I can look at it objectively without bias.

And I have no idea the type of person he is. He was definitely a sefish, arrogant prick that night - I'll give you that.

But having him sit in a jail cell for x-years doesn't really accomplish much.
You referred to it as an accident.

Tripping over your own shoelaces is an accident.

Momentarily losing concentration whilst driving, right at the moment the car in front stops, yep that's an accident.

You don't "accidentally" drink a load of beers and then drive at 150+ mph on city streets. That's a decision you make knowing that it's a stupid, dangerous thing to do. He made that choice, let him live with the consequences.

As for what an extended jail sentence accomplishes? Punishment for his actions, and perhaps a deterrent to others. If he walks away with a slap on the wrist and some community service, it tells others that it's not really a serious issue.

By "accident" I mean he didn't mean to go out and kill a chick and her dog that night.

Not saying there shouldn't be a punishment. I just don't know if prison is the best option.

No it wasn't intentional, which is why he should do time for manslaughter rather than life for murder.

Your suggestion of community service is a joke though. So much so that I thought you were trolling. I was poised to reply to your first post about it, but deleted my response as I couldn't believe you were actually serious.

I'm not a fan of locking non-violent offenders up. Never have been. Although this one is about as bad as it gets and is borderline on me agreeing that he deserves to be put away for a bit. But if he takes a couple years and talks to young athletes about consequences, I see that as more beneficial to society than more tax dollars spent on another dude behind bars.

He'll be broke as shit after the civil lawsuit that's certainly coming.

How about 1 year prison, 1 year community service as I originally described. And again, I'm assuming the dude has the capabilities to communicate in an effective manner.

Not sure jail time is the best course of punishment. He was incredibly careless, but it was an accident.
One time I willingly ate too many hot wings and then shat myself.

I didn't kill anyone but it was as much of an accident as what Ruggs did.

Shitty decisions should have serious consequences regardless of intention.

A year in jail for killing someone is a joke.

Well, I think we'll just have to agree to disagree on this one. I believe that jail is about punishment as much as it is about keeping the general public safe from violent offenders. I'm also of the opinion that drunk driving and reckless speeding offences aren't punished severely enough here in Britain, and it sounds like they aren't taken seriously enough across the pond either. Lastly, the consequences of a crime should be taken into account when sentencing an offender, and in this case a life was needlessly cut short.

10 years. minimum.

All good. We'll see how it plays out. I don't see him getting 10 years. Probably 5 max and he'll get out early for good behavior.

If this was in California he'd already be free. ?

After that interview with Aaron Rodgers I heard, I can’t wait to hear the libtards go nuts and their guts burn inside

Now, by far, my favorite player

Couple of things regarding the Dolphins:

1) If you wanted to time Jacoby Brissett's release, you should probably use a calendar.

2) Were those really boos I heard after a 3 and out on the first drive of the game?

TE's really under-performing compared to last year.
I don't remember how they performed last year. Were they getting WR/RB numbers?

Kelce has been pretty consistent for me, only shitting the bed 2/8 games. Gesicki has been more up and down (4/8 shit games) but I blame that on the QB situation.

Waller and Kelce were regularly getting wr1 numbers. This year not so much.
