there's 0 percent chance i would ever listen to anything on youtube at 1x. granted, it's mostly podcast and news type stuff. so 1.5x or 2x works best

in terms of media, i hear ya. faster is weird. BUTTTT, if case you didn't know, Netflix has a unique speed-up feature where:
- the voices are sped up to keep sync with the video
- but the voices remain the same pitch

actually, now that i think about it. youtube must have that as well. because nothing i listen to on youtube sounds chipmunky at 2x
I watch so little on YouTube, it’s not worth speeding it up. I usually watch when I shower and wash my hair since that’s time consuming.

A majority of the entertainment I’ve been consuming over the last two or so years has been subtitled as it’s in other languages, and I don’t want to read that fast and miss stuff happening on screen. I also watch English speaking stuff with subtitles because I suck at hearing sometimes.
I think I could manage audiobooks at 1.5-2x speed.

i hear ya makes sense. i also always use subtitles, even with english speaking shows since subtitles give extra information at times

audible narrator pacing differs, but generally speaking, i do first listens at 1.5x, second at 2x, and further relistens anywhere from 2-3x when i know the material very well =))

Watched the sensational film "Alpinist" not going to lie, I teared up.. One of the best doc films I've ever watched..
Marc-Andre Was I've of the bravest humble humans to ever walk this earth..
watching this right now, loving it

Marc was an absolute badass
That man was the definition of Fearless

can't help but laugh at the "learning how to identify plants" part

immediately followed by 2 images of the kid standing in a field of poison oak fir a photo op

He was an enigma for sure, still can't believe he got taken out after all the shit he survived.

Reacher.
Just finished the first episode. Cheesy parts to it but overall decent for a first episode.

Don’t know much about the books but it’s way better than either movies they put out.

Disagree but I’d love to hear your points.

I find the show to be entertaining as a space western in the same way I enjoyed The Mandolorian. The complaints I hear have all consisted of "It's not as good as the Mandolorian" "it's not true to the *insert their favorite novel, comic, video game, etc*" or "There's not enough action." If someone doesn't like it, that's fair, but I don't have a lot of time for the smarky "Its not exactly what I wanted it to be" criticisms the show is bombarded by.

Two actors I absolutely adore make me want to watch it.

Gotta love Star Wars fans opinions. They love to hate.
I feel like Mandalorian had better direction as far as story compared to Boba Fett. The last two episodes felt like fan service based on fan reactions to the first half of the season. Don’t get me wrong I didn’t care for the first half either but I also acknowledge that I’m probably not the target audience for the show. I’m glad people are enjoying it because I’ll always tune in for more Star Wars.
