The deal does not make sense for the USADA. Usually the person is snitching on someone above/ more important then themselves in the criminal activity but who could be above or more important than Jon. He is basically an undefeated multiple time champ who fought and won the championship dirty.
Who could he turn in that would be important enough to let him walk?

Unless the whistleblowing was of a level that it changes the face of the sport then this is a very poor decision.

Jones has changed the face of the sport, his suspensions have changed it and the only way to reverse that even a tiny bit is to bring forward information that nobody else could have and his stature depended on. For example, Jackson Wink is actually pedalling PED's via a pay per play system through their camp full of world champs. For example....

Think Lance/Ferrari on US postal...

Jon sacrificed his image for the betterment of the fans.

He knew how this would make him look, but he did it anyway bc he knows how bad we want to see him back fighting again.

Also this isn't anything new for Jon. From 2009:

“I thought it would be so cool to be a hometown police officer,” Jones told Sherdog back in 2009. “I’ve always been a person who tries to do the right thing in life, for the most part. I’m no angel, but I was always the kid who snitched on the kids who had pot.

“I don’t want to offend the pot smokers out there, but I was kind of just a snitch. I was just down for people doing the right thing. My parents kind of raised me to be a good guy. I’ve always been down for the good side, I guess.”
