I remember reading awhile back that all PMs are stored in a DB and are readable by anyone with admin privileges. I don't share anything good by PM but i'm sure it would be pretty easy to do a ctrl+f on the whole db and find "themmacommunity".

Well fuck em!!! I finally FINALLY deleted the UG app from my phone which was a big deal for me lol. I would just go for news and when I was on the shitter or waiting for my next client but I just can't do it anymore that place is so fucked it's crazy. I will honestly not miss anything when at one point I def wouldve. I just can't believe the downfall of that place imo. I have been busy as hell lately so I haven't even been able to post here much but I totally love the direction this place is going.

Well it seems to be all my fault the ug has fallen so far so quickly.

There's nothing noted in the mod log but I do see that you were banned. I'm not an admin but I really, truly doubt anyone is reading anyone's PMs. The read folder thing is a known bug and it happens to me pretty much every time. I also doubt they would ban anyone due to perceived competition. There are plenty of folks posting there that represent other sites and whatnot. I don't know for sure, of course, but nothing I have ever seen would conform with that logic. If you'd like me to inquire about that ban, I can.

dhughes, IMO you, crooklyn and Rickstorm are the best mods over there and the most respectable.

But IWEI has not made a single post since creating the forum, about the forum. All through PM.

What are your thoughts on that? I know you were not the one who did it. But to me it's pretty obvious why they did... Shouldn't they be given a warning first? Other sites are linked to all of the time, even shitty lesser ones, why are those people not banned? I'm not asking you to provide an explanation as to what happened, I'm just curious about what you think their logic is on this. Do they really not like the idea of this forum?

Evil Yoshida has never been banned over it, yet he has a forum that many UG/OGers post on, and has been linked to thru PM probably 100s of more times than this one. Just curious what you think as to why. Again, I have nothing but respect for you, when that BS happened over there with myself, you were the ONLY guy who went out of his way to be cool to me.

Nah that's alright my man. Not necessary. And for the record, I know it wasn't you, RickStorm, or Crooklyn that banned me or said or did anything to get me banned. I know that because all three of you were personally invited here, because I came to know and like you over there. And RickStorm and Crooklyn have helped me out here on many occasions.

Supposedly it's a glitch, but there's been numerous times where someone's posted that they sent me a PM and it would be in my inbox but in my read folder when I go to check it.

Fuuuuck. That happened SO many times to me, I thought it was a glitch that automatically sent PM's to the read box. But then once in a blue moon it wouldn't happen, and I was left scratching my head.

Breaking away from the UG, it's like finding out all your ex-wife's betrayals and what a fool you've been for so many years. But then you STILL love her...

It's all so sick and wrong!!

Do they usually have explanations in the mod log for why people get frozen and banned?

I know they don't explain why they were frozen/banned but i thought maybe other mods knew whats was going on.

I believe Rick has talked directly to IWEI so there's really not anything I can add. Given a bit more time to think on it, I'd really rather not be in the role of explaining (or even justifying) moderation on the UG when posting here. I have to do that often enough of the UG. And really all I speak to is my own experience and what I do. Thanks for the kind words, Galanis. LOAW, I can tell you that whenever I freeze a user that I write to a log both the reason and my name so it is easy to trace. I don't really know about banning as it is reserved for admins.

Kirik is on record saying a lot of people tried to start an alternative site and never succeeded, we're on track to make something good out of this, I'm sure he ain't worried
