I don't necessarily agree that you should need a college degree to fly a plane - so I'm with him on that one. But when it comes to being responsible for transporting hundreds of people in a metal tube 30,000 feet in the air? Fuck your equity. I want the best person for the job - I don't give a damn what they look like.
It is... It doesn't just have to do with the people you try and shove in there in name of diversity (certain ethnic groups and women and lgbt) but also even the straight white males potentially because you have to lower the bar for others to get in... It can also mean straight white males that wouldn't have got in otherwise can get in now too because they lower the bar and also change the things they look at. Lots of them (us) are fucking morons too. Needs to be 100% meritocracy no exceptions.
