It looks like a great time, but the margin of error is ridiculous if you're shaving inches from things that will kill you. I can see doing it at altitude, but not in valleys and forests.

Forget how many parachute jumps you need to get licensed for this. It’s quite a bit.
My brother was going to do this until he came to the realization that he was spending stupid amounts of money jumping out of airplanes when he already has to do that at his job (active military/airborne). He decided to invest in real estate & get educated in IT & programming. Now he’s ready to retire from the army next year & has a few rentals & a small business already up & running.

Sky dived in my 20's. Awesome experience. Our youngest did it 2 years in Puerto Rico too. She tandem jumped with an instructor. When I did it, there was a tether tied to the rip cord, so it automatically pulled the chute about 20 seconds after I jumped out.

I know that feeling. I went from fearless to cautious and I'm not sure when. Id struggle with most things nowadays is it wasn't for ridicule of backing out.
