General Anyone noticed more lightning bugs this year?

It's about the same here in Upstate SC. There are fewer here than there were when I lived on the other side of the mountains in TN. There were a shit-ton of them in East TN.

Came to post that we have way more than in the past here in Upstate SC. This year has been closer to what I saw in Upstate NY in the 70’s/80’s.
I was in Grafton WV two weeks ago, and they were numerous there as well.

We used an oversized red whiffle ball bat. It's impressive how long the glow lasts.

We would often see smashed ones glowing on the grill and hood of my parents cars in the garage on summer nights
