The "Let's Get It On" podcast had big shoes to fill with the departure of legendary referee John McCarthy. The show is about to make a major splash in replacing him, though.
Ben Askren and Joe Warren will be the new co-hosts of the show alongside Sean Wheelock, sources told MMA Fighting. An announcement is expected Tuesday and the first episode will be posted Friday.
McCarthy, who founded the podcast along with Wheelock early last year, announced he would be leaving earlier this month. The godfather of MMA officials recently moved to Las Vegas and has taken on more work as a boxing judge in Nevada in addition to his countless refereeing gigs around the world. "Big John" didn't feel like he could give as much time to the podcast as it deserved as a host, but will remain on as executive producer, sources said.
Askren and Warren have a relationship with Wheelock going back to their days in Bellator. Both are known for their outspokenness. Askren and Warren also have a friendship going back to their days as highly decorated Olympic-level wrestlers.
