hello mate. sorry for the direct post. crowbar @crowbar

I saw you mention at the other place, how you must have been heavily involved with the mma scene in the US at least as far back as 2000. fair play to you.

no doubt a tonne of interesting stuff to learn. are you ok to write a bit about your mma bio and take politely worded questions?

I wasn`t a promoter or manager or anything big like that.I was on the road & cage crew and provided security around the cage for 6 different promotions including the WEC & IFC.The UFC didn`t offer me a position when they acquired the WEC .

nice one

when did you first hear about the sport/how?
did you train/with whom/when did you start?
attending shows. how many/where? as a fan/corner?
did you ever spa/fight/smoker?
if so, do you have any fun stories, from this?
do you train now?
what's your favourite submission? lol
do you have any additional comments.

1) I first heard about MMA in 1993 when the UFC had their first PPV event.
2) I trained with friends but nothing formal in 1998.
3) I`ve attended approximately 45 to 55 shows.
4) No,I never fought in a smoker.
5) I had the most fun & most stories with the WEC.
6) I`m way too old to train now & it`s very low on the priority list.
7) Peruvian neck tie or a gogoplata.
8) I`ll take more questions.

you must have been running in martial arts circles to hear about UFC 1. how did you hear it was taking place?
how did you feel after watching ufc1?
how did you get involved with wec?
do you have any fun before-they-were-famous stories about fighters/officials/promoters?
do you have any fucked up after-party/hotel stories?
what single show sticks out in your mind as the best you attended and why?

1) Not at all.I heard it advertised on my cable company.
2) I was shocked and addicted at the same time. The first kick & uppercut from Gerard Gordeau did the trick.
3) The IFC & the WEC were in cahoots until 2005 (not alot of people know that) I quit the IFC and stayed on with the WEC.
4) No,only after they were fighters.Paul Smith (IFC) once rode in the trailor with the cage and slept because he was a cheapskate.
5) Joe Riggs pushed/threw me down at a WEC after party when he was drunk when I tried to hold him back from getting into a girls face.
6) Most WEC`s because we had breakfast the next morning with Ryan Bennett & Jeff Blatnick & sometimes the fight professor Steven Quadros.

2) My UFC replica belt signed by Randy Couture & Chuck Liddell.
3) No,but one show I had to provide security for them & Chuck Liddell`s girlfriend who sat with them.

Do you still do that biker stuff where you look out for vulnerable folks? La Paix @Nuk Soo Kow gets some flak from the members here for his bald head, he could use some support.

Jimmy Boogaloo,

I want to change one of my answers.

You asked "What single show sticks out in your mind as the best that you have attended"

Answer: The IFC`s $50,000 Global Domination Lt Heavyweight Tournament held in Denver Colorado at the Pepsi Center in 2003.

The fighters were....

Trevor Prangley,Forrest Griffin,Mikail Avetisyan,Babalu,Eric Wanderley,Shogun,Jeremy Horn & Chael Sonnen.

Babalu beat Jeremy Horn in the finals to win the $50,000 and the belt.Chuck Liddell was there to hand over the belt that he vacated.

I met so many fighters that show.I even met announcer/commentator Big Poppa Schnake.

I was the fighter wrangler that night meaning that I escorted all of the fighters from the locker room to where they walk out.
