This is very hard to find here I think I saw one bottle once and it was bought immediately by someone else.

I only mess with tequila thats reposado or añejo. I find the mezcal craze weird because it was always considered an inferior liquor in a plastic bottle usually when folks couldnt get regular tequila in a place like jalisco Mexico where tequila orginated but got good marketing and nicer bottle designs so the price and hype went up. reminds me of the way they made vodka like 100 bucks with marketing even though grey goose isnt too different from a 4 dollar bottle of new amsterdam or popov or maybe a titos.
I like my bourbon nice and cold which got me to thinking...

I get in trouble if I drink it cold. I’ve gotten so used to sipping it neat that if it’s chilled or in a cocktail I barely taste it and drink too much to fast.

I’ve been interested in bourbon for some time now but, outside of a 2/3 full bottle of Breakpoint, I haven’t really tried any.
Looking at the website for the local liquor store, they have Buffalo Trace in stock. I’ll probably pick up a smaller bottle of Elijah Craig as well.

Buffalo Trace - at the price point you can get it - is hands down the best on the market. It's a great bourbon.
My wife and I had a good laugh last night after I noticed it burning my eyes while drinking it. Yet it was still going down smooth neat. I may have a problem.

These dipshits have Buffalo just sitting on the shelf - big and small...For $22 if you buy 6. In Ohio and Kentucky there's usually a 1 or 2 bottle limit - if you can find it. Which you can't.
And they have Michters locked up for almost twice the price! What the fuck?
Nothing against Michters - it's a solid bourbon. But why the fuck is it marked up that much behind lock and key?

Pretty normal pricing for both of those around here but you can get Michters for around $35-38 if you shop around. BT should always be in the $22-25 range for a single 750ml.
Blantons is the one where we get ripped off, Wellers too but I don’t care for that stuff. Used to get Blantons for $45 all day long. Now it’s >$100 if you can find it.Fuck that noise.
For people that like Old Forester dated versions, they’re in the Michters price range ($40’s) usually. That’s another one people like but I can’t stand.
BT beats Blantons. All daay.

I wouldn't go that far. BT is solid for sure, especially at the price point. Doing blind tasing a while back my top 3 came in as:
Michters American
Wooford Double Oaked
Blantons
This was a few years back and all bottles had a $50 or $60 price cap(don't recall which). The crazy bourbon market over the last several years had me move on to Scotch & Irish mostly. Actually I've been laying off whisky/whiskey for the most part & just having beer(which isn't very good for the waistline lol).
