George's Music closed their doors last year after serving the Orlando music scene for 45 years. The dry cleaners that still have possession of my clothes went out of business after 50 years of service. They left a note on their door telling me to hit up their other location to pick up the clothes. That location is closed too. Is this shit getting real enough for anyone else yet?

What type of businesses are you seeing close around you?

Walmarts all over the Puget Sound have shut their doors, as well as several pharmacies.

Furniture store, department store, about 6 banks, 3 pubs a game store and 3 clothes shops. That's just off the top of my head. There are others.

Covid lock down fucked things up good.

Lots of restaurants are boarded up. Fast food too - mostly because they can't find workers.

Plenty of commercial office buildings are vacant. Not sure that's coming back with the work from home crowd.

We should start converting to housing en masse to spark the inevitable price correction. Cheap living for everyone.

Brilliant.
Buy a $35 million building and convert it to Section 8.

I'm pretty sure that's exactly the plan.
Don't be surprised when each Commercial office space has Chinese on it in 10 years.

2 of my favorite food booths that had been thriving for decades shut down and left town due to covid lockdown
That is gonna be very hard to get over

Yeah it was brutal, half the restaurants we regularly went to closed.. But that was 2021 through 2023, haven't seen anything close 2024/2025 that I really noticed.
