Not in the slightest. If your god did not kill anyone and does not send people to hell and all the other horrible stuff like condemn gays etc, then I have no issue with it.

I am simply saying that most mainstream religions demonstrably have evil in their teachings and that they should be called out on it. What is it about my opinion that you disagree with?

Guess what, god can be whoever you want him to be and everyone has has their own ideas. NEWS FLASH: not all christians are child molesters or murderers the way you would like them to be. Guess what alot of christians arent even republicans or far right politically.

I find it funny that the ones in this thread that claim not to believe are the ones argueing the most over what someone else believes. You guys are intentionally trying to make the only person here that is saying live and let live out to be a bad guy because he says he is a christian. Who really gives a shit about who reads what book or how they Interpret it if they are living life in a way that is not being an asshole to someone else? The two so called non believers have shown in this thread that they are no better that a jehova witness with trying to shove their beliefs down someone else's throat. Be thankfull you live in a place where you can have religious freedom and not fear death for not conforming to the norm of that region.

Your reading comprehension is flawed. Believing the Bible does not make you evil. AGREEING with it does. I am happy to discuss this objectively if you wish.

Sooo, my daughter got sick last night. Sorry I couldn't join in. @Leigh and I have talked about our belief structures on more than one occasion. I started posting in this thread to discuss it further and I don't mind having my beliefs challenged. They would be pretty shitty if they didn't stand up to scrutiny.

My whole life I have felt my conscience pricked by something whenever I did wrong. I do my best to listen to it now. I think that what most people refer to as their 'angel on on shoulder, devil on the other' is really just God showing you the right thing to do. It's up to you to listen.
