Now that he is healthy, Cain Velasquez is looking to get back his UFC heavyweight title.

The American Kickboxing Academy fighter returned to the win column this Saturday at UFC 200 by stopping Travis Browne in the first round. Following his victory, Velasquez expressed his desire to once again become the UFC heavyweight champion.

"For me, I just always want to fight the best guys," Velasquez said at the post-fight press conference. "I want the winner of Stipe and Overeem. That's what I want, you know. I feel like the stuff that I've done for this training camp, as far as keeping my body healthy, I feel like it's worked for me. And going through a whole training camp without any little tweaks or, you know, nothing really bother me, has been awesome.

"That has been because of the stuff that I've done to keep my body healthy. So, I want the best guys out there. Those two guys are fighting for the belt. I want to fight the winner."

Velasquez, who is currently ranked number two in the UFC heavyweight division, lost his heavyweight belt to Fabricio Werdum back in June 2015 at UFC 188. He was scheduled to fight in an immediate rematch against Werdum in February, but Velasquez was forced to pull out of the fight due to a back injury. As a consequence...

Despite his nice performance I still feel its too early to grant Cain a title shot due to his history of injuries. I wouldn't mind him facing the winner of Werdum/Rothwell but then who you give the title shit too after UFC 203, its a bit complicated imo.

If Honda is guaranteed a title shot in her first fight back, then I'm good with Cain getting a shot after looking so good in a win. I'd rather see him fight the top guy(s) now if he's still healthy. Just my preference.

i think Cain beats Overeem, I think he might even Stipe. He would be arrested for attempted murder if he fought brock

He deserves it based on last night. Let the guy have his shot at redemption and let everyone else gun for him. I still think Cain could be the stable champ that division has never had.

Lets see if he can make it through 2 camps without getting injured before we put the title into purgatory again. Let him fight Fabricio for the title shot.

Absolutely, this is the fight to make. Two ex-champions in need for a win. He wants top guys, Werdum is absolutely one of them.
That'll be a bigger fight if Cain (or Werdum) becomes champion again. Cain is almost certainly getting the winner of Miocic vs Overeem.

That's too bad. I don't think Cain should get a shot so soon seeing he had nothing but shots at the belt. It would maybe a better fight if Werdum and Cain would have a rematch witha shot at the belt at stake.

Problem with booking it is will he make it to the fight?

Need to have a Mark Hunt style situation at 200 where you tell (and pay) a guy to be ready in the wings just in case Cain drops out. Difficult though.

How many shots has he realistically been given, 3? He's a two time heavyweight champion who's been prone to getting injured, but he's not the heavyweight version of Urijah Faber.

I'm fairly confident that Cain will get the next shot at the belt. They even mentioned another card in Mexico City. They will bring Cain in to fight for the belt... Almost guaranteed.

I agree with those who say let him prove that he can remain healthy. It has been especially frustrating for me seeing that I'm a pretty big Cain fan. The man needs to Learn how to stay fit. Change his style of training or something.

Cain looked good on Saturday. Glad he beat the shit out of Travis (don't like how Travis took the mittrione win. Bs win). I don't think we will ever see the Cain of old tho. Too many knee problems.

The Cain that fought big nog or rothwell was Cain at his peak. UnbelieveAble..

It'll be interesting to see how cains conditioning holds up if he fights in D.F. Again...

We all want to see sea level cain. Imagine getting Sea Floor Cain?

originally i thought he should have another fight before getting the shot but a puddle has more depth that the heavyweight division and after looking at the rankings ( i know there dont mean shit ) there just isn't any matchups that make sense except the Stipe / Overeem winner
