I don't want to fighter bash but imo Cain isn't and never was the best fighter technically at heavy.

He never really had any power, submissions, no real finishing ability. He adapted the Diaz style of pressure and volume, and I think that just mind fucked his opponents, and they were never able to set down in their head and really execute.

Thats why Mma is not only the greatest sport, but the hardest and most demanding. There are so many elements. In my opinion it is the highest form of any competition, it is the most complex platform of execution. there are endless factors, and I think fighting for a world title might be the highest high you can get

That's not fighter bashing. It's an opinion. Fighter bashing would be calling him a bum, accusing him of PED use, etc. I thought your post was pretty insightful actually.

I see it being a closer fight based on your reasons..... but Cain was hurt bad in that fight. Not sure how much he closes that gap between then and now.

Personally I'd prefer Werdum win so that UFC stops this immediate rematch nonsense.

I'm really hoping Werdum takes it, but I would not be surprised if Cain wins. We could definitely use another heavyweight trilogy.

Don't forget the mental edge. Cain got his ass beat badly in his hometown, and he tapped. This could be good or bad, but werdum will be even more confident now. That's a huge factor

They say styles make fights. I think Werdum has Cains number. Cain likes to finish via GnP. Werdums ground game is so good that he can avoid Cains GnP.

I don't think High altitude Cain, sea level Cain or under water Cain will win.

cain was the best technical wrestler at HW who trains with a great wrestler like cormier and a grappler like rockhold ,him wrestle fucking guys and running wrestling clinics allowed him to dominate less technical grapplers.
