Chimaev will go down as MW GOAT

IF he can stay healthy. No one in the top 10 can touch him right now. He just toyed with DDP, he manhandled Whittaker. We are about to witness greatness.

Problem is, he's boring as shit. Dominant wrestling, sure. But boring if he fights like he did last night.
People used to give GSP shit for being boring, but GSP was always looking to improve position. Khamzat was happy to just lay on top of DDP.

The stat everyone should take away from last night is that he had 20+ minutes of control and attempted 0 submissions. If Bo can get his shit together, Khamzat is fucked.

Hazmat had total control and landed no punches that made any effect really despite landing about a billion and he managed no real submissions.

That's a backpack.

Well he did break Whitackers mouth with a choke 1st round in his last fight, he finishes most guys in the first round

15 total fights

12 finishes 3 decisions

Last night the props go to DDP for not quitting, most guys would have rolled over and given up their neck to get the nightmare over with.

He's mostly fought enhancement talents. His finish rate dropped significantly once he started fighting ranked fighters.
Sure, he does have two decisions in his last 5 fights against Top fighters

He still steamrolled his last two opponents is all I'm saying
He didn't finish DDP but he completely outclassed him

This is probably the only person that could beat him. Close to equal wrestling with golden glove boxing behind him and an never ending gas tank. Id worry a bit about Chimaev's submissions, but likely wouldn't be a problem
I think he would make Chael quit IMO, totally different levels of mental toughness

I actually think Rockhold from a few years ago in his prime might have been the guy that would have Khazmat's number. In fact I'm very curious what the results of them rolling have been, I bet they have trained together. Chimaev was in high level camps for almost 10 years now and Luke goes and trains everywhere with everyone.

He out wrestled him. His last opponent before that was a washed up Bobby Knuckles. I love Bobby, but let's be serious about where he is in his career. Usman is washed too and he barely fucking beat him.

I hear ya, good points

He is allegedly unbeatable in practice/training according to a lot of fighters. Hope to see more fights from him to get more film of it.

One of those things, man. With all these Ruskie fighters we hear what killers they are and then they look increasingly less impressive as the level of their opponents continues to increase.

I still remember "Khabib has never lost a round in training" and "Khamzat has never had a punch landed on him during a fight". I believe there was also some outrageous claim about how untouchable Islam was before the first Volk fight (which Volk fucking won God damnit) but I can't remember it now. I'm not convinced that someone like Khamzat who's progress basically ground to a halt once the competition elevated is going to be able to sustain his title reign once he runs into someone that stuff his takedowns.

Shit, DDP was a few pretty basic wrestling moves from being able to stuff him early. Then Khamzat is stuck standing and what the fuck is he going to do then?

Shit, UFC 239 Masvidal would have starched UFC 319 Khamzat, lol.

Training is very important. Many of the fights are won in training well before the cage walk and lots of fighters know who the uncrowned champs are 3-4 years before they get a title shot.

That was impressive last night IMO. I saw what I have been hearing about from fighters and camps for the last 6 years or so.

No one said training isn't important. The fuck are you talking about?
