I gave you a fastball down the pipe all you had to do was swingIn fairness I only ordered the chef's knife because I find questionable utility in needing such a high-end bread knife, pairing knife, and shears.
I think it's probably better to spend the money on a good German style chef's knife, a good Japanese style chef knife, and then work out from there depending on what you're doing.
I'm so bad at baking. my cheapo bread knife is probably fine for a long long time.
