If I pull it off I'll be well chuffed because all the ingredients I had in the fridge or cupboard already apart from the cream.

With extra brown sugar, soy sauce, garlic, ginger. Brush on banana ketchup with molasses and dried chilli pepper flakes while cooking for extra gooey spicy sweet bbq.
You should be able to find the marinade in any Asian store.
