Morning Report: Colby Covington explains why he won’t fight Tyron Woodley in September
Speaking with Submission Radio, Covington said that though his fight with Woodley didn’t have a set date yet, the were looking at fighting later in the year as he needed to recover from some injuries.
“We’re looking at doing it in November, December,” Covington said. “You know, I need a little time off, I need to do a little recovering. I’m only human, man, I gotta get a little vacation. I just can’t keep running my body through the ground, going through training camps. You have to be strategic, and you know, November, December works for me. I had little health issues after my fight, so I’m getting those taken care of and by the year’s end I will unify my belt and retire Tyron Woodley for good.”

When the champ is ready the interim needs to fight or be stripped IMO.
He didn't mention what these injuries are either.
I would think if they were big enough to turn down a title fight, he would say what they were.
