Yeah, in theory, FTL "travel" is possible with this method because the shit itself is not moving, the space around it is.

I never liked Superman anyway. P4P the biggest pussy in comic history. Has every power in the known comic universe & still takes beatings on a regular basis.

Flying into a sun.

Superman and Thor are a couple of superheroes who have done this. There may be others. This is complete nonsense. The sun is a perpetual nuclear reaction a million times bigger than Earth. Let's put some context in here. Thor has been hurt by punches from Hulk and Juggernaut. Superman was killed (or at least punched into a coma) by Doomsday. None of those blows generated anything like planet destroying energy, because the Earth was unfazed. They didn't even generate the energy equivalent to the shitty underground nuke tests by Pakistan and North Korea (equivalent to about 9 kilotons or TNT or 3 x 10^10 joules).

The largest nuclear bomb ever tested, the Tsar bomb, generated 2.1×10^17 joules of energy, equivalent to 50 megatons of TNT. It created a fireball 6 miles wide and blew out windows 700 miles away in Finland. The shockwave went around the earth twice. The punches from Hulk and Doomsday didn't do that.

The sun puts out 3.8×10^26 joules EVERY SECOND. So every second, it pumps out about 2,000,000,000 times the energy of the Tsar bomb. Every second.

Those guys aren't strolling through that.

The original Marvel Universe was much more down to earth when it came to qualifying the powers of the superheros. 'Class 100' was about the uppermost strength level we would see and that's just about enough to lift a tank. At normal clam levels Hercules was considered stronger than Hulk. Also, via Reed Richards diary, Hulk's strength is not limitless, at max exertion he would be able to lift/press about 200 tons. The best source for Superman's abilities comes from Starnet Database which is no longer in existence. It explains his telekinetic lifting abilities, bio-cellular matrix and solar absorption in depth.

Yeah, like i said earlier in the thread: If there's a burp in any sort of superman powers, it gets explained away (BS) with that damn kryptonian bio-field.

At least it makes comic sense. Hulk has neither the leverage nor the power source to achieve what he's achieved over the years.

Superman's invulnerability.

This is explained as a bio-electric field that radiates a few millimetres from his body. When he has no solar radiation left in his body, he is as vulnerable as a human.

How does a forcefield protect his body from accelerating from zero to light speed in seconds?

What about his hair? In Superman IV. a strand of his hair was shown to be able to tolerate a tremendous weight. If his hair is in New York and his body is in China and he depowers, will his hair in New York suddenly snap?
