This is the kind of shit MMA promotors need to come down hard upon. These are things that motherfuckers get shot over in real life.... You don't talk about people's family, religions, or countries.... You don't... No wiggle room on that at all. In one (since deleted) tweet, Conor offended Khabib's wife, religion, and cultural beliefs..... And the sad thing is, the UFC will probably make mention of that in the lead up to the next fight (or someone will read it at his eulogy as the lead cause of Conor's demise).
There are levels to this shit, and for YEARS guys like the Diaz Brothers, Jorge Masvidal, Khabib, and others have all said/shown that it's a business until you make it personal.... Hell Brock about killed Mir in their second fight because it was personal... Wanderlei, Rampage, numerous other have shown what they do to guys when they take it personal. There are promotion generating insults, there are mind games you can play with your opponents...... But don't do shit like this, and shame on the UFC for YEARS now normalizing fighters like Conor, Colby, and others for doing it.
If Conor ends up dead because of this, it wouldn't shock me (something like this or cocaine will get him). Rickson Gracie said it best... "We fight for money, I'll stop when you want to, but if we fight for honor, I'll stop when I want to"... This is something that I don't see going Conor's way at all.... Book the Diaz fight for Conor and give Khabib the winner of Max-Poirier. They can still make their money while not condoning this or adding fuel to it. No, but if he wants to continue to fight in the U.S., he'll have a problem if this turns into a criminal case or civil suit. There are consequences to making serious allegations in a public manner.
If Conor isn't convicted...then yes possibly.
Then again his manager says horrific slanderous shit all the time, is constantly in legal trouble, and is still involved in the sport (not to mention government run athletic commissions) so who knows

All Khabib would have to do is put out a public redaction, saying that he meant to say "Alleged" rapist. Conor is under investigation, it's not like he's off bases with this comment, or said something crazy like "Conor is a murderer of children for pleasure", he alluded to the current investigation. It would be like if Jon Jones went after everyone for calling him a cheat and PED user for his last two fights, when he wasn't found 100% guilty.
Even in a civil case, no one is being kicked out of the country... I know plenty of immigrants here who have have civil cases for dumb things brought up their way that didn't get kicked out of the US.
