I was watching this last night. I detected a hint of sarcasm and a pinch of public outcry
That lawyer nails it. It was evident that he was being sarcastic but you just can't say shit like that.
Boom. Can't be sarcastic with civilians, they'll sue.
I made a joke to my team one day that I was going to bring an uzi to work the next day and shoot them all in the face. The army appointed test officer was like "goddammit don't say that shit" and told me the tale how he got exiled and banned from another site for saying he was gonna get his gun out his car and shoot someone.
He was in a heated argument with them tho, where as I don't even own an uzi

I always ask before getting anything from my pocket or the glove compartment when a cop is standing right outside my car door.
Not because of anything I see on YouTube, just because it's the logical thing to do.

It kind of makes you feel bad for him though, 23 years and he just snaps and says something like that and loses 23 years of credibility with the public.
I'm not a fan of law enforcement by any means, I have a lot of experience, even a member of copblock.org; been the recipient of blatant brutality.
But in this case, with the current climate, I feel for him.
But in my mind, old news.
I hope the public in large has the ability to get past it, and wish him well.

I remember watching this reality tv show when I was a kid about Heathrow Airport and this American guy had a guitar case. When they asked him if he he was carrying weapons he very sarcastically said he had a machine gun in his case like the old school mobsters. Security went ape shit and arrested him.

No one's arguing that he was being serious, but as a law enforcement officer he has to hold himself to a higher standard and know not to make jokes like that while on the job.
So you don't get fired for actually killing black people, but you do get fired for joking about killing black people.
