Spanish flu good. Chinese flu bad? Again I think we're stigmatizing the word by handling it with gloves. Something from China is Chinese. Like my phone. It's Chinese.

spanish flu was pretty brutal people died in 12 hrs back then suffocated to death.

According to most medical professionals I've heard speak about it, most healthy people who get it will never know that they had it at all. So although your information may be capped by testing capacity, positive test results aren't necessarily the best indicator of how serious this is or isn't.

There's a scientific name for this virus that everyone was using until some right wing politicians started calling it the Chinese virus. Now Chinese people I'm in contact with tell me there has seen a big increase in the scrutiny and racial discrimination they experience. Given how badly people are behaving during this crisis I don't think anti Asian pogroms are out of the question if this thing gets a lot worse. Propaganda is a powerful tool and Trump and these other right wing politicians have used it in a really sinister way.

China blamed the virus on the US military.
That was precisely when he started calling it the Chinese Virus.

Everyone was calling it the Wuhan Virus before that.

@Yossarian a Malaysian/Singaporean guy I know says that his race is Chinese. He probably means ethnicity but you get my point - many Chinese people don't consider being Chinese strictly a nationality
