Then he probably won't tell you anyways. It's a complete dick move, and discriminatory if we're being honest, to assume every priest is a child molestor.

Agreed it would be a dick move, I would never actually bring it up, just wanted to relate something on topic. I think he's a weirdo, and the coincidence of him being molested and then becoming a celibate priest is just kinda suspicious. Certainly not enough to go on though

Maybe he does it because he wants to make sure it doesn't happen to another kid.
I had a friend who was convicted of raping little boys. I cut ties with him immediately after finding out. I didn't even wait for the trial. Turns out at trial they had a group of boys he raped, but he took a plea bargain on only one count so instead of facing a potential lifetime sentence, he got 23 years. The two interesting things about it were that he was arrested about 10 years after the rape he was convicted of for felony road rage. He ran someone off the road or something like that. Since it was a violent felony, he had to submit blood to the dna database. About 6 months after he was released the database made a match on this case from the 90's. The second thing was the police sketch looked just like him. It was circulated in the area of the rape, which is also where he grew up and lived. I can't believe no one recognized him.
If you dare you can take this question even further and ask yourself if you replaced friend with dad mom son or daughter ?
Reading about the Dean Corll story his mother defended him even after his crimes came to light. His father who didn't much even like kids and remained distant from Dean and his brother laid a flag on his coffin and Henley's mother always remained at his side. They killed a confirmed 29 boys but very likely Corll killed upwards of 40.
Carla Homolka's mother did the same despite that Homolka and her husband killed her youngest daughter Tammy.
A friend you can forget but what if it were your child? That question would be a lot harder to answer.
I bet this is how ons ear will go down. Like tons of people who know him and nobody ever suspected he was a serial rapist and nobody connected the sketch even though it looks like them.
I think part of that is psychopaths learn how to manipulate people very well by seeming amiable and very likable that no one would ever think they are capable of crimes like that and never draw a connection.
I agree with what you said Leigh but if what floats my boat is scarring children I'd chemically castrate myself.... If you can't do that you are putting your nut above all else.
There were a lot of odd things about his personality, but he was a closet homosexual until he was in his mid twenties, so everyone that knew him just figured that had something to do with it. After he was arrested though, I heard some stories from mutual friends, and once you added them all up, it was clear as day he was a child predator. Examples:
He was a camp couseler every summer since he was 16 until early 20's.
In high school, when his friends would randomly visit him, he always had little kids over from the neighborhood playing video games or swimming in his pool. They apparently talked about how weird it was to one another.
He helped out in grade school music programs.
In college, he and his roommate took acid. As they are tripping balls he says to his roommate that he has things in a trunk that he has to get rid of immediately because they could both get arrested. He said he needed help getting rid of it. The roommate, tripping balls, thought "cops - no way! I'm tripping balls and can't have the police here!" So he helped bring this trunk out to a dumpster and they lit it on fire. To this day he has no idea what was in the trunk.
This story is the real kicker - He was working as a piano teacher at a music program for kids. He called up one of the boys on a Friday night and said there was a Disney land trip planned for the next day and to meet in the parking lot at a certain time in the morning the following day. The kid's parents go to drop him of and it is only this guy in the parking lot. The parents ask where everyone else is and he tells them that he had the time wrong and since they were now late, the bus left without the kid, but he stayed behind to drive the kid and meet up with th group at disneyland. The parents didn't buy the story (thankfully) and drove the kid home. They reported the incident to the music program and the guy was fired. Don't know of whether authorities were contacted though. I'd imagine yes, but whatever came of it he wasn't arrested.

My dad went to prison for having sex with his stepdaughter so this hits a little close to home for me. Purportedly this occured between the ages of maybe 14-15, but I'm not really sure. Also not sure how much happened or didn't, but I know he went to prison for a few years.
In the aftermath I had to decide whether to have a relationship with him or not, both because he'd been an entirely absent father and because I found what he did morally repugnant. Ultimately, I never did end up continuing our relationship aside from a few emails. He always said he'd explain what happened someday, but he never did. I saw him once before he died and now I regret somewhat not asking him more things, but when I see what a trainwreck of a life my stepsister ended up having, I feel I made the right choice.
