@RussfromNH @MountainMedic as far as eating / making it simple / getting more calories / etc goes...
Probably the simplest, as well as one of the cheapest, ways of going about it is to head to the deli at the grocery or wally world & get a cold rotisserie chicken. You should be able to get one for about $5 (a hot one is generally $7-8...prices & all that will vary, obviously).
Roughly speaking, you're looking at 150g each of fat & protein for a whole bird. Eat one whole one a day (however / whenever you want - snack on it through the day, all at once, multiple meals...whatever suits you, your schedule, hunger, etc best) a day and you'll have taken one helluva big step in the right direction.
Is it as good for you re nutrients, cholesterol, saturated animal fat, etc as say red meat? No. But it's cheap & easy, which should make it easier to do & stick to, which is more important.
Add 3-6 eggs a day cooked in butter and you'll get a ton of nutrients, cholesterol, etc.
If you're feeling really froggy you could add a couple ounces of beef liver 2-3x/week for the nutrients, but that shit is nasty. lmao. I only eat it when I'm eating ground beef or ground turkey, because I can chop up the liver into small chunks, mix it in, then I don't notice it.
