real champs move up, Dana wanted it with GSP, but not with Ronda.
Yep. That's why I will always love guys like Sakuraba and BJ Penn. Anyone, anyplace, anytime. It was never about holding onto a title, or building a legacy for them...it was about testing themselves. Their bushido built their legacy.

Whatchu talkin bout Willis? She's the best WMMA fighter not named Ronda Rousey, and even that's debatable. This fight would answer all the questions and needs to happen.
What questions? Who's the best female fighter at 135? How about letting this chick win a few UFC fights at whatever weight class, before giving her a shot at the Champion.

Probably caused a premature ending to their careers, but who cares as long as the fans like it.

So your argument is GSP wasn't a real champ? That seems strange.
well he never moved up and dana talked about it for 3 years, i thinks GSP management made a commercial decision not to make him move up.
just like Dana is doing with Rousey now, its a money dec not to move up.

Well I agree, but he was still an amazing champion and is in the talk for GOAT at least. To say only real champs move up just isn't true, but it is a mark against his legacy. Perhaps a better way to say it is that the absolute best champs move up? But even then GSP was one of the absolute best.

Money definitely plays a role in Ronda not moving up, at least from the side of the UFC, since they have spent a lot of time building the 135 division around Ronda. If she moves up and loses, then they have lost a fair amount of glamour from their #1 women's star, while being left with a winner who has no division to fight in. As far as Ronda goes, I think she is legitimately concerned about Cyborg juicing, or at least maintaining the size advantage from juicing.

Not to mention Ronda seems like a person who has a strict code of ethics, and I don't believe she wants to do any favours for someone who has broken those codes, like Cyborg has. At this point moving up to fight Cyborg is a favour to Cyborg, but there is no goodwill from Ronda's side, and no leverage from Cyborgs to make it happen. This fight will happen at 135 or it won't happen, Cyborg should get used to it.

Part of her deal is she has to make 135 before actually getting a fight in the ufc. But why not put on a catch weight fight and give the fans what they want..... Like the Ufc always says they do, especially if Rhonda can beat men bigger than her.
as a fan I really have no interest in this fight. none. I don't' think cyborg is a particularly good fighter, nor does she deserve the fight. just saying

Kind of surprising tbh. We all have different perspectives and ideas about what we want to see. Personally as a fight fan it's a curious match up for me and I'd like to see it.
