Delta 9 seems to be a better choice than delta 8 if I was in an illegal state like texas. Iirc 9 is psycho active my favorite part of doing drugs is the visuals which is why im getting into shrooms lately hopefully california has an amsterdam situation where shrooms get into the weed dispensaries or open their own stores but they need to be legal first.
I like the Delta 9 better than the Delta 8. I can relax better after a hard day. I also noticed an increase in potency, which for me is an obvious plus.
If you just need a good night's sleep, Delta 8 is enough.
Here is the difference between Delta products hempercamp.com/differences-delta-8-delta-9-delta-10/
For first time users, I suggest you start with Delta 8 and be sure to check with your doctor.

I’m just learning about this cannabinoid. I stopped drinking back in late 2020 (433 days and going strong, woo-hoo!). I’ve always enjoyed marijuana (Delta 9 THc), however, while it helps me in many ways (ex. anxiety, sleep, relaxation, recreation, migraine relief), I don’t always want to have the “stoned” results, and sometimes too much (frequency or quantity) is a trigger for my anxiety/depression.

I stumbled across Delta 8 and I think I’m onto something. It is derived from Hemp not Marijuana (both varieties of Cannabis Sativa) without the strong psychoactive effects. It gives me a lift and offers some of the same benefits that Delta 9 does, but without the negatives. I’m able to maintain a clear mind and get the benefits without getting baked.

As I get older, I want to feel content more than I want to get fucked up and I want to avoid the desire to numb/escape since that is what led to my issues with alcohol.

Any of you have any experience or thoughts on these edibles Delta 8?
Hello. I am new to the forums. I had never heard of it before I saw this CBD company with products with "Delta 8 THC". Apparently, it's a form of high that is stronger than CBD(obviously because CBD gives no high), where you remain clear-headed and focused. Apparently, it's legal for this company to ship Delta 8 THC products anywhere in the country. I'm just curious for those who have tried it - is it truly comparable to a normal THC high, or is it really a much more watered-down high?

Delta 8 THC, huh? It's gaining attention lately. Have you considered looking into trythecbd.com for some Delta 9 products? They've got a variety worth checking out! It's cool to see more options available in this space.

I hope they legalize mescaline that would be nice although I have no idea what longer term mescaline use would do to you. Getting some mescaline for the day off work and relaxing would be cool if it was in dispensaries.

At the risk of coming across like a a pothead, I started using Delta 8 about 5 years ago for back and hip pain. (years of Judo and such). It works, so I started looking into different mixes for different things.

Mobility and Stretching: These take the edge off of the rehab for my lower back and make the mobility training easier. I like a mix that has Delta 9, HHC, Full Spectrum CBD, & THVC. Chill Plus has a brand called uplifted that has this mix.

Cardio/Weights/Rolling: I am no longer competing or anything that strenuous, but will still hit the gym. If I feel like I need it for recovery, about 30% of the time, I will take a blend of Delta 8, HHC, and Reishi. HHC and Reishi and great for recovery. Reishi is mushroom extracts, but not that kind of mushroom. Knocks the edge off and, i think, helps with joint pain.

Dancing: I go dancing just about every weekend. Mostly latin dancing so we get a good workout. Delta 9, THCV (makes you feel more energized), Muscimol (another mushroom extract) that makes the music better.

Cigar Time: I do not smoke due to asthma. I do smoke cigars and have been known to take some Delta 8 prior to a cigar. Especially if I am smoking late a night.

Sleep: I generally sleep well, but if I need some help I like a blend of CBD, CBN, and Delta (8 or 9). Most "bedtime gummies" will have this mix.

Whatever gummies you buy, you want to see if they have the chemicals that allow for "entourage effect". Most labels do not list that but if you buy in a store, the clerk should know. Entourage is the chemical that come along with THC that help the body to metabolize the drug. It speeds up and smooths out the up and down of the impact.

Always eat a littel something when you take a gummie. Even a half a banna is enough. It just makes everything smoother.

Happy to answer any specific questions.

Ill take 50 mg of delta 8 edibles and go mtn biking sometimes, definitely a less intense high, delta 9 is liquor and delta 8 is beer is the best analogy I got. Because its a less intense high its easier top quit too. Much easier to use casually. If I use delta 9 thc for many days in a row and then stop cold turkey I get chills like I have a fever and Im grumpy. That doesnt happen with delta 8

I like the beer and liquor analogy. HHC is somewhere between Delta 8 and Delta nine, so fortified wine.

They have THCA now which turns into delta 9 after the application of heat, like in a joint or vape. It still doesnt feel like pure delta 9 though, probably because the chemical reaction isnt that efficient

paging madval @madval for advice
To be honest I’ve never really taken the time to learn a lot about it and have never smoked any delta 8 products. I brought some in to sell when they first started making them. They didn’t sell at all, had to mark em down to move them and that was the end of it for me. THC-A is the new thing some vendors are trying to push. Haven’t carried any of that yet either and probably won’t.

Delta-8 seems like a great option for you, especially since it offers many of the same benefits as Delta-9 (like anxiety relief, sleep aid, and relaxation) but with milder psychoactive effects. It provides a clearer headspace without the intense "stoned" feeling, making it easier to stay focused and avoid triggering anxiety or depression. Many people find Delta-8 helps with their wellness without the negative side effects of stronger THC. Since it’s derived from hemp, it’s also legal in many places where Delta-9 isn’t. It sounds like it could be a good fit for your goal of feeling content and avoiding the numbing effects that led to your alcohol issues.
