Welterweight veteran Ben Saunders is out of the UFC again for the 2nd time in his career, but he does have a fight lined up for September.

The last time we saw Ben "Killa B" Saunders inside the Octagon was back in January, he suffered a knockout loss to Patrick Cote, which ended his three-fight winning streak. Unfortunately for Saunders, even with his successful record in his second stint in the UFC, it wasn't enough to warrant another fight with the promotion.

Jason Floyd of The MMA Report confirmed with UFC officials that Saunders is not under contract with them. Saunders is scheduled to fight fellow ex-UFC fighter Jacob Volkmann on September 9th at Fight Night at The Island in Volkmann's home state of Minnesota.

Saunders (19-7-2) was previously released from the UFC in 2010…

Well that's disappointing, Killa B is an exciting fighter. I'll watch him fight anywhere, but there would have been some good match ups for him in the UFC.

This sucks.... Great guy I've know for years here in Orlando, super humble and cool with everyone. I'd love to see him go to Bellator again, I'd also love to see him do an EBI or Polaris event too. He'll be back somewhere soon I guarantee that

I just posted in the news thread Wild started, but I'll say it again.

I will watch Ben fight anywhere, but there would have been some good fights for him in the UFC.

Not sure he's welcome back there. He torched that bridge real good.
He was in a hard spot there... I'm sure to bolster their roster they'd have him... He'd be top 5 in their WW division, and I'd love to see him fight Daley or Koscheck, there would be good matches for him

Time will tell, but guys need to be a lot more professional than to air dirty laundry about former employers.

Ben seems like a great guy. Hope he catches back on in Bellator.

Was it Coker Bellator though or Rebney Bellator? Because I remember EVERYONE throwing Rebney dirt out there after Coker took over, so that could play into Ben's favor

Rebney Bellator.

I only remember it because over on the UG when Ben asked for, and was granted, his release the infamous "BellatorFan" went on a lengthy tirade about Saunders never wanting to be there to begin with, having issues with management, difficult to deal with, etc. BellatorFan was promptly banned for fighter bashing.

A little while later when Ben resigned with the UFC he made a long post on the UG about how he never really wanted to fight for Bellator, that the UFC is the only good promotion, and basically confirmed everything that someone else had been banned for saying about him.

It was Rebney. Coker would welcome him back. Wish Askren would go back also.

Saw this this morning. Sucks. Really really like Killa B. Hearing him on with Rogan (fight companions I think) he seems really cool. Plus he got skills.
