If it wasn’t already apparent, nutritional supplements tainted with Ostarine have become a bane for UFC fighters. Diego Sanchez is just the latest addition to a list of athletes suspended for the banned ‘selective androgen receptor modulator’ (SARM), a list that includes Sean O’Malley, Thibault Gouti, Amanda Ribas, Nicco Montano, Marvin Vettori, Augusto Mendes, Polo Reyes, Josh Barnett, Zubaira Tukhugov, Ruslan Magomedov, Jim Wallhead, Tom Lawlor, Carlos Diego Ferreira, and Tim Means.

Unfortunately, for fighters like Lawlor, Ferreira, Tukhugov, Magomedov and others who went through lengthy ordeals…

Is Sanchez vs Pereira cancelled then? ... oh I guess not

Interestingly, the drug testing agency reports that Sanchez’s 3-month period of ineligibility started at “the date he began using the products,” October 26th, 2019. That will leave him free and clear for his planned upcoming fight against Michel Pereira on February 15th, in Rio Rancho, NM.

is a little consistency too much to ask from these people?
What about levelling blame at fighters or supplement companies? it's a constantly evolving problem and USADA are at least trying to keep up.They are catching people while trying to be fair to the athletes. Obviously there's been some very dubious cases i.e Jon Jones but for the most part they are doing what they are supposed to. What happened to Tom Lawlor sucked, then a less harsh version happened to Magny, and finally we got the quickly handled Nate Diaz version. I don't think they are going to switch back to the first case unless there is scientific evidence to suggest it's necessary.

USADA is a fuck load better than no one testing at all

the TRT era was more exciting than the usada era and the pride era was the peak of mma . usada is suspending guys for shit you can buy at walmart all the while novitzky is acting as jon jones personal press agent to convince us that its no big deal that he has steroids in his system .usada has given him a golden ticket to pulse for life. they have ruined careers and ended careers of lesser known fighter .usada is a mess and no one ,not even the fighters are clear on what the ever evolving rules are at any given time. it was better off before usada. everyone was on steroids but everyone is still on steroids so why bother complicating things ?

fighter and supplement companies have their share of blame in this too but in no way should one person get a 3 month suspension and the next guy get years for the same damn thing

He probably went takashi69 on jackson wink
Just the idea that guys narc-ing can reduce their suspension is preposterous on the face of it. Investigating large illegal drug operations should be left to LAW ENFORCEMENT. The sport simply needs rules in place to keep things FAIR.

So, do we all think it’s an honest mistake and accidental tainted supplement, or can we add Diego to the Juicer list?

if a law changes then yes someone charged for that crime in the past will receive a different judgement than someone charged now.

what is the example of someone getting 3 months and then someone LATER getting 1 year for the exact same offence

also the amount they fail for and the testing both before and after do factor in

these arent laws or crimes and they arent enforced the same across the board
