Lol Wut?

"A man hears what he wants to hear and disregards the rest"
Calling out the U.N. for being liars, doing interviews where you discuss the states monopoly on violence and questioning the covid narrative is "Establishment"? News to me.

His businesses are only possible with billions of taxpayer money...so spare me the fake #MeToo.

So brave with his empty populist tweets.
hes trying to get congress to cut all tax incentives related to electric cars, even for tesla, but...

fun fact: the rules only applies to the first 200,000 cars. and hes already sold that many. so tesla doesnt benefit from it anyone. others do. strange that hes against it now

and theres more stuff like that. hes a trash human

edit: theres a tax incentive for cars from places with unions. but tesla isnt unionized, so hes mad about that too

really?

i dont know his businesses much. but my understanding though was that they have become very successful after recieving large grants by the government or something like that
Tesla in terms of sales volume is one of the smallest automakers in the world. Toyota on the other hand, is the biggest. According to stock valuation, Tesla is 3x more valuable than Toyota. There's a variety of reasons why this is, and none of them have anything to do with Tesla being a sound or sustainable business model. Ie, The grants you mention.

I like that Elon came up with a way to sell off a bunch of stock without panicking the fanboy pricing.
If he weren't screwing over his own consumers using crappy home Depot parts to meet his bonus metrics It might be funny. But at the end of the day it's kind of screwed up to show utter contempt for your consumer that celebrates you and your accomplishments.

Tesla doesn't sell cars. It sells the idea that you're now friends with Elon Musk and that you get to sit in on Space X design meetings. Mind you, in 2021, where people hero worship guys like Fauci, it isn't surprising.

Agreed on all fronts. Even Elon's. Weird thing about faking. Being a founder of so many companies all the way down to lawsuits to keep the charade going is pretty weird.

I will say that he found his niche at SpaceX. My understanding is that he is the one who essentially spearheaded the team creation buying up all the industry experts into one block and has been part of several substantial decisions that accelerated their iterations. There isn't particularly some consumer being grifted to leave a bad taste in my mouth.

I'm less than impressed with essentially every other venture that he's taken part.

I've tried to explain it to people before, but his cult of personality tends to leave people in the "love him or hate him" camp so it generally falls on deaf ears. He's generationally brilliant, the story goes that he sketched out a working rocket on a flight back from Russia after he tried to strongarm their government, but he's an absolutely horrendous business person.

I do take issue with the Space X thing. Although if it wasn't him it would just be Lockheed/Boeing, the taxpayer is the dupe in that transaction.

Maybe I'm wrong. What is SpaceX doing were they are taking money and not delivering the intended product?
He's Top5 for direct grants, and that doesn't include all the tax exemptions from state and county.

FunFact: Elon Musk paid no income tax in 2018 (last year that info is available)

Ah, OK. The guy with that username has a long running "Tesla is not a real company" thread, he posted about Elon Musk so often I was wondering whether the guy had ficked his girlfriend or something!
This might seem counter-intuitive, but generally I enjoy Musk. I'm just also able to recognize his many short comings.
