Yep, it's become painfully obvious that this is divide and since there are no competitors to the WWE people still shrug and say "Well it's better than X, or WWE not being there" which is not solution, it's being held hostage and extorted by apathetic monopoly.
At the end, the unsung editing hero part, was what Warrior originally wanted his award to be, and then in typical fashion, Vince appropriated it for an overcoming adversity award I can guarantee he doesn't actually give a fuck about. He just didn't want anything backstage to get any credit he doesn't authorize giving.
It's very heart warming to see the sick kids and disabled people (yet Droz never got one) get some recognition, but that is not what the award was intended for. It is not a media tool to make the WWE not look like a circus of violence solely.
just like the writing, and competitor talent, Vince takes it, tells it what he thinks it is worth, whether it is based in reality or not and destroys it.
