Shaub was on point.
He said that Pride tournament era was the golden era and we will never get that level of comp back.
Said todays MMA is watery.

I would give my left nut to do a Fight Companion with this crew. Talk about a blast these guys must have on the regular.

I would love to see Eddie and Joe try their hands at MMA, just to see how they would do. I think both could be competitive in the UFC...maybe I'm crazy. Never happen. They're loaded and time is no longer on their side. Sigh.

They are both fucking bad ass. I think it's way too late for them to be competitive at any elite level though. Anyway, I know some people hate on them for their personalities (why people even care is beyond me, just don't listen to them talk if you don't like them)... But they are both highly skilled martial artists who know their shit. Rogan is very crafty and still can teach young guys things that they haven't caught on to yet.

Perfect example. Those are tricks of the trade that guys acquire when they've been doing something FOREVER. TJ is a phenomenal fighter and very young, with amazing athleticism. But there are still things that guys will have learned that he is yet to, solely because he is so young and you can only learn so many little things in that amount of time. I think Joe would make a great coach. I mean think about guys that are out there who never did fight yet are amazing coaches? Rogan has a vast knowledge of striking and grappling. I get that it's not his thing, but you can tell he has a lot of knowledge that can be passed on.

I wish video existed of Rogan's pro kickboxing fights. Not the TKD stuff he did (though that'd be cool too). But he was either 2-1 or 3-1 in kickboxing and talked about doing a 1 night tournie, that he got KO'd in during the finals and then decided he didn't wanna fight anymore. It'd be awesome to see him fuck shit up. I know a few older people in the MMA scene here who started in TKD and more TMA style stuff in the 80s and 90s. Anyone that has ever mentioned Rogan said he was one of the baddest motherfuckers in Mass. I believe it considering his state and national titles.. it's not like those claims are not backed up.

I also really wish Rogan would do a celebrity 1 off fight like the Wesley Snipes one that ALMOST happened. It would be awesome to see him fuck shit up in there. Seriously, who wouldn't want to see Rogan be the guy to fight a CM Punk or some other random name value guy? I know he doesn't wanna do it but I WANT TO SEE IT haha

At first TJ even questions the technique and thinks what he is doing is just as devastating.

But after going over it, doing both versions back to back, TJ realizes that there is a better way that can cause more damage with more power. I'm sure there are TONS of guys in the UFC that could learn from Rogan and obviously Eddie.

Also, don't get me wrong.. There are more than a few fighters signed to the UFC right now that I think Joe would fuck up in a fight. Obviously there's the drug testing whatever, but let's say it was a smoker that no one saw and wasn't sanctioned.

There's more than a few dudes I've seen on Brazil and like, random Singapore fight night prelims, that Rogan would handle easily in my opinion. Even some guys on the show yesterday.

He might be older but when you're that strong, have such crisp kicking technique,k a lifetime knowledge of grappling, etc... I don't think some of these new guys with 3-4 years experience training and like 4-1, 3-0 records that get signed to regional shows, would even have a chance going against him in a straight up fight tomorrow.

What I mean is like, guys like a Vitor or something would obviously be a different story. But the low level guys, I am confident there are plenty Rogan can beat. I can't name names, because no one knows who the hell they are anyway - which says something about the quality of guys UFC has brought in during recent years.

If I was not so lazy I'd post all the bad ass videos of Rogan hitting pads, bags etc. Those kicks will destroy humans.

It's almost a shame to me that he never fought. I know timing didn't work well but damn. The Wesley Snipes fight would've been epic. Imagine how fast he would've destroyed that movie star who thinks he can fight? It's a shame because as far as I know, Rogan actually had a full training camp for it underway and evertyhing before it fell though.

How awesome would that have been? I'd rather watch that than CM Punk any day. Not saying I won't watch CM Punk because I will, but Rogan fight > Punk fight any day

I wish they'd just do Rogan vs Punk. I know it'll never happen though because Rogan's injuries and other things. Mainly, the fact he'd kill Punk. But the UFC could basically say like "Even our commentators are better REAL fighters than your top stars in WWE". Lol

Been saying that for years. Pride was the golden age and we're in a major decline.
