"The next fight is scheduled for April (...) it will be here in Japan;. (Rizin) is planning a tournament next August and is in talks with Bellator and other organizations. There is another chance of a joint project" http://www.bloodyelbow.com/2016/1/1/10698380/fedor-my-next-fight-will-take-place-in-april;

omg it's really going to be a co-promotional worldwide tournament!! something like Bedorf and Pudz from KSW + Lashley and King Mo from Bellator + Jungle Fight HW champ + Brandon Vera from ONE + bulked up Thiago Silva + Cro Cop maybe??? omg....

would love to see a king mo vs fedor fight. be fun stuff.
I don't know. I think King Mo is a very dangerous fighter, much more skilled than the largest percentage of the ufc hw roster. He is at the peak of his career, his current streak is 7-0 and 4 out of these 7 wins was by way of knockout. It's a very dangerous fight for Fedor. I'd even prefer for Fedor to fight Werdum than to fight King Mo at the moment.

I don't know if Fedor is completely ready yet or if he ever will be at his current age. In my view, Fedor has nothing to prove and I would hate seeing him get knocked out at this point. I think Fedor needs to get one more fight this time against an opponent that is a skilled mma fighter but not king mo's level, see how this fight goes and then decide on whether to fight someone like King Mo or not.

yeah i can see that. Get a little ring rust out, hype Rizin a bit more with marketing then have a King Mo showdown later down the road when hes ready.

I'd have no worries with Fedor fighting King Mo tomorrow.
But yeah, I can see them building this a bit bigger first.

I thought Cro Cop, even though he retired, was still under contract with the UFC?

Wow, I was expecting some sort of two-month speculation once again. It seems like all this time they were supposedly looking for another fighter instead of Singh, what they were really after was a fighter for Fedor's second fight. Can't wait to see who it is going to be.
Me too! Can't wait to see the next can!!! Over under on the next can being even less known than the last one? Oops. Prolly not possible to even do that and still get the fight sanctioned.

can't he fight in Japan and become a refugee from the US never come back to America ever again?
I'm not saying the suspension-related thing, I mean from a contract standpoint. I think the UFC would threaten litigation in the US, Japan, Russia, or Bumfuck if another organization tried to book Cro Cop for a fight.

I think there's a mistranslation happening with the word 'tournament'. I think he just means a fight event, not an actual bracketed tournament.

My money is on King Mo. Dangerous enough to be interesting, but a fight Fedor should be able to win no problem.
