Gaming experts, how does this happen??

I'm baffled.

I play EA NHL '22 on PS4.

Lately animations and dialogue have been disappearing from the game:

A brief animation for goalie replacement and the associated commentary dialogue apparently no longer exists.

Replays of a penalty used to exist, now it just shows an animation of the player skating to the box.

A game misconduct penalty used to be replayed, with dialogue regarding the offense.

How do game elements simply go away??

Dont really play EA sports game. Most of those EA sports games get updates as they are heavy microtransaction games. Changing the way game plays to maximize microtransactions. I believe they have updates for changing rosters and stuff like that also. I look more into the patch notes. I'll try and see what they took out or put in.

22 I only play on the console, not online.

I just don't understand how entire sections of a game can simply disappear.

Unless the devs did so intentionally, I can't think how it could occur

Is your console connected to the internet? I will still update single player games. Sifu is a single player games and it has updated several times. Came out in March I believe. Enemies changed fighting combos and are more aware of their surroundings. Some games get upgrades but they’re actually downgrades. Visuals, frame pacing and stuff like that. Cyberpunk 2077 comes to mind. From what I read on your game it’s a copy and paste code of the previous version. Features were taken out. Hat tricks play animation but the hats people throw aren’t there. That feature was in the previous version. Other features were too. Sorry about the rant. I’m a gamer. Like I told you before if you want to go online gang banging killing players and selling meth to NPCs hit me up.

It's connected to the internet. If I wasn't clear, I'm not talking about graphics that were present in the older versions.

There have been a few changes like an onscreen graphic showing top ten players in several categories... which worked well for about a month but now it isn't onscreen long enough to get info.

I knew about the hats and was disappointed, but figure they weren't gonna have people code it and patch it.

But what could removing elements from the released game accomplish?
When I bought 22, those animations worked and the game was smooth. No reason to remove them.

But they're gone.

It pisses me off wondering what will disappear next. The goal replay? I mean, the game doesn't NEED it...

Afa playing online, I get the "you are no longer connected..." flag a lot. So much that I haven't bothered trying to log on to a server.
