Just curious what you all think. It seems like he just wants to be able to punch certain people.

I have mixed feelings over whether this is the right move, but I don't know if he would really want his career to stay in mma anyway. I kind of hope not.

I tell you, I'm on the fence here.... He comes from a great camp, can absolutely become MMA ready, and I understand that there's a financial benefit.... But I feel like he's on such a roll in the sport BJJ scene that I'd like to see him go for a world championship, or compete in this year's upcoming ADCC in Helsinki before making that transition.

I also get though that it's getting to the point where him and Gordon Ryan sort of compete at the same weight class, and both jump around weights a lot to allow the other to shine (and sometimes sit out of events).... Hell Garry said that he isn't defending his 170 lb EBI belt in 2017 to let Gordon go for it since it's his natural weight class.

Nemo?

Too weird to live, too rare to die.

I like the jump to MMA...this jump will really make wave's in the BJJ community IMO.

If he does well in MMA and has a good run this will push EBI and EBI style rules in the jiujitsu world to the forefront.

Also show that there is still threatening opponents coming out of the BJJ community.

I'm excited to see this play out.
