I have nothing for collateral. Awesome.
No 401k that you could secure a loan with? There's more than one way to skin a cat. Individual investors. Business American Express card. Maybe a dumb question, but is this something that you could start online? Start small, build a customer base, and then maybe expand out to a store?

No. Definitely no 401k. Online, might as well be a shrimp farm.. and before you cunts laugh at it.. you can sell freshwater shrimp for a lot.. I've seen a lot of 10 go for 500$. Considering they have a shitload of babies per mother? It's worth it.

So you wouldnt want to do something like that RVD? Online that is? To start out. I admittedly know nothing about that type of business, so feel free to educate on why it wouldn't work or you're opposed to it.
I'm not.. but I'd need more than my current location for it.. I have a 55 gallon tank and a 10 gallon for freshwater.. I'd need a lot of room.. right now petco's having a sale on tanks $1 per gallon basically. I'd stock up on the 40gallon breeders they got at mine, which was 4. That'd give me enough for 4 different breeds of shrimp.. 8 if I split the tanks. They'd have a fuckload of room to breed and be happy.. I'm just not sure how the logitistics of sending them would work tbh, and that would worry me.

if you look at the second link, The trumpet snails are going for 10$ for 10 of them.. lol I've easily got 200 between the two tanks right now.

Maybe another crazy question but what about renting a climate controlled storage unit with electricity available to basically store the tanks and run the business out of? Probably looking at $100-$150/mo for the unit and if you got something like a 12x16, you could house a shitload of tanks. Regarding the shipping, I'm sure you could figure out the logistics of that with a little research online.

Could work. I'm not sure how the storage units are here, since it gets to -55. 12x16 is pretty big, but then again I cant see that in my head with how many I could get in that.. add in humidity to the place too.. hmm.

As in, barely successful, but the goal was never to get rich. I worked around 10 hours per week, cleared around 2-3k per month
That sounds incredibly successful. I'd love to have the skills to start a business and hit numbers like that. You'd never fear losing your job.

haha I talk about animals and gardening a lot don't I hahaha! Yeah, def two of my passions. I'd love to do something outside the box with either or both...something I could do online, from anywhere and create some passive income. I should schedule time to brainstorm and really take the time to generate and vet some ideas :)
You know what I'd like as someone who knows abso nothing and fails repeatedly at gardening?

An online consult. Where I could upload a picture of the yard space, get a design plan that's simple to understand, and I could order that specific recommended kit that has the seeds I need, the simplified planting plan and care instructions. The seeds would be tailored for my location and season etc. I'd pay something reasonable for that.

Maybe someone already does this idk.

See, right here is a great idea. And I think girlandcoconut @girlandcoconut would be surprised at how successful it could be. Good post Melinda.

Update: Warchild was in the hospital, got to devote a little more than one hour per week, and made some significant progress. Made contact with someone, somewhere, and a partnership is brewing... I started selling product on Ebay three weeks ago, am up to $3800 in sales as of this morning. I've been averaging about $300 a day over the past week, although that's going to tail off when I run out of product in the next week or so. However, Ebay did me a solid, as my feedback has been good, and upped my seller limit from $5k per month to $9500 per month, which I might push in January or February. Around 70% of that is profit, of which all of that is going right back into product for now.

I think I'll hit my savings goal for starting another business by June or July. I have a business plan in place for that.
