I think it's on Netflix. Great movie, worth buying. Get the second one too.

I watched and loved the original animai film. this one looks poor in comparison, i thought scarlett johnanssen would be good in it, but sorry she looks like a poor major. go and watch the original. and watch aikira while you are at it. and play final fantasy 7!
The netflix animation seems to be from 2013 it is different from the 1995 film.
Why would you remake it? The orginal was gripping viewing enough.....Hollywood, the hero wins, makes love with love interest, overcomes evil, and walks off. Unless Quentin Tarantino. But he is influenced heavily by watching Asian movies.
I'm sure I am over simplifying it, but Hollywood (non indie) is about the box-offcie, turns movies into PG versions, etc, etc.

I saw the trailer for this before watching John Wick 2. The CGI was out of this world good in the trailer, just looked flawless.
I know nothing about the source material but I fancied it. Reminded me of Blade Runner, The Fifth Element, Ex-Machina. There were more but I cant remember, I love all of those movies and this seems to be getting the right treatment... so it might be good.

I watched it cold, no idea what I was getting into. Just the name rang a bell so I watched it.
