I like that google is building this phone themselves rather than just have a chinese company build it and slap a google sticker on it. I realize a good amount of parts will be coming from China but still its one step closer to being an American phone. I would buy one simply for that but i think i would wait just to see if there are some quality issues to iron out first. Currently using a Note 8.

While the phones are supposedly mostly designed by Google engineers, the Pixel 2 is built by HTC and the Pixel 2 XL is built by LG. Google recently acquired part of HTC's mobile division, so maybe they are moving further in that direction.

The Motorola X was built in Austin, TX for a while, but that didn't last long.

Dang i read that pixel 2 was the first google made phone.

Have HTC discontinued their M lines of phones?

I used to have an M8, and it was, imo, equal to the Samsung Galaxy line in terms of quality and capacity, but I switched to Samsung when HTC's stock started to plummet.

I've willingly bought 2 HTCs over the years. I've had 6 of them as each time I had major issues with them.

I haven't strayed from Samsung since.

There may be a phone that out performs mine but I'm yet to have any issues out of one. I'll ride this Korean horse until the wheels fall off.
