Second footage looks like clouds, I watch that on Shasta all the time...haven't watched Ranier at all so I don't know what looks "normal", shasta produces some bizarre cloud events

He's saying he believes we're actually at a solar maximum, perhaps through early 2024, with a GSM beginning in 2025, which I believe is when action in a geological activity peaks, or begins a "peak cycle".
Still tons to learn & understand.

Indeed, it could repeat. Studies suggest that Carrington-class storms occur once every 40 to 60 years, so we're overdue. Don't worry, though. The four CMEs currently en route to Earth--even combined--are probably no match for the monster CME of 1859. The Carrington Event won't happen again this weekend. Nevertheless, it would be wise to keep an eye on this growing active region while Earth is in its strike zone.

"Severe Geomagnetic Storm" hits Earth, NOAA warning in effect all weekend
The NOAA Space Weather Prediction Center issued a Severe (G4) Geomagnetic Storm Watch, marking the first such event since 2005.
It’s a G4 or KP8 storm. We’ve encountered several of these events. Most susceptible areas in North America are going to be eastern Canada & northern USA. Areas with large amounts of igneous rock are the most vulnerable since this rock resists current flow causing the currents to migrate through the power system.

Although they're measured on a G or KP level, that's not the whole story.
It's like explaining 2 7.5 earthquakes in the same city, but one at 7 mi. deep & the other at 20.
Back pressure, combined storms intermingling etc. makes this unique, more like the 2005 storm.
In 2005 we didn't have near as much elf/emf/complex low-voltage & cellular/wi-fi technologies or satellites.
With 5+ burst & rear planet back pressure, and weakened magnetic sheilding, this could be a very interesting test to our communication networks.
I trust the experts here, who are painting this as not "G5+ K9" SHTF, but not a nothingburger either.
I’m getting ready to walk in to work. Once logged in, if there’s anything I can post about this event I will. Every decent event has operating instructions for us if there’s a possibility of geomagnetic impact. I’m in CA though so the impacts are generally much smaller than the northern areas.
