lol I thought this fight was already scheduled. MMA is in a sad state, the precedent was set and now everybody's following the blueprint - be a dick, hold on to the belt taking the easiest route possible, make the most money before egg pulls the rug from under you.

Another element to this farce, Canelo-GGG is in September and Conor-Floyd, if it happens, will be around the same period. Those are two massive events that could make this fight much smaller than they anticipate.
I'm seriously highly suspicious of all 3 happening.
Think maybe Bisping and Woodley end up fighting each other cos they can't get no other matchup they like.

Dana has come out and said that Canelo/GGG has stolen the McGregor vs Mayweather date. So they aren't going head to head with that. Which means May vs McG gets pushed back to November.
They would have to be stupid to think GSP does big numbers (I'm skeptical he does anyway) in between or immediately after those fights. It's a time to stick to low-cost PPVs aimed at the hardcore MMA fans, because casuals sure as shit won't be buying a likely $100 PPV in September, a likely $125 PPV in November and open the wallet for a GSP fight in between or just after.
It makes it untenable for them to plan both fights right now, realistically.
