If he stays at WW, he gets worked by Whitaker. If he drops back down to WW, he gets worked by Woodley. Might be a good idea to retire on top & go out on his own terms again.

I think that was the plan all along ..he saw a favorable matchup in Bisping and a chance to pad his record ..he pulled off the big win ..now he retires....no way he sticks around for the murders row in welterweight and middleweight.

Damn let the man celebrate.... Let him drink some NOS and watch Ancient Aliens or something before we mark him for death..... Truth is, he can pull a Bisping and fight older fighters (paging Mr Silva... Mr Anderson Silva), or he can demand that Conor superfight at 170..... Options are available

GSP looked very good in the first round, but he looked tired coming out for the second.
Had he not finished Bisping awesomely, there's a BIG chance Bisping would've outpaced and diced him up the next 2 rounds.
If it's in GSP's contract to fight Whitaker, well, he's gonna get worked if he doesn't finish it quick somehow.

If he drops to 170, it's hard to say how he'll look, but he'll have to look better cardiowise than he just did, and he knows it.

If Conor is allowed to keep fucking around, the BIG money fight just might be Nate Diaz.
With the success of this card and GSP's emergence once again as a name, Conor's bargaining power might've just taken a slight dip.

Sure Bisping was a "champ", but the UFC's 155-185 title shot criteria is a joke & anybody's guess, with the top tier being a BAD idea for GSP.
Mousasi would've obliterated him; Jacare, Rockhold, Weidman, Romero, etc. still would.

If he has the choice, 2 superfights.
Diaz, and yes, Anderson Silva, for a GOAT vs. GOAT megafight, which is still easily marketable.

I agree with the thread premise.
It does not look good moving forward, IF he HAS to fight contenders & champions.

If he called out Anderson, they would actually give him the shot over whittaker or romero
That PPV with Conor vs Ferguson would actually do 2mil+ buys

GSP destroys Woodley at WW.

Which is why he is calling him out at MW.

Gsp vs Woodley is actually an interesting fight imo. Woodley I think, would try his shit point fighting approach but would start failing under the pressure and then have to start trying to take gsp out, which he definitely has the power to do.

But saying that I could also just wind up being a shitfest

You heard him last night when Rohan asked. He has no idea what to do. I think he knows he gets worked by most the the mw roster and ww he won't beat Twood. Twood will be like Hendricks but will finish him.

He couldn't finish shields or Maia but you predicts he will put away gsp?

I'm not saying he can't, he could, his knockouts tend to be flash in the pan affairs though. He would much rather just cuddle and play it safe if he can.

And I'm talking about Woodley here.

What's crazy about Woodley is that he has the power and we have seen him put guys out and we have seen him fight like total shit. Gsps style I think plays well for Woodley. That being said if GSP is now going to be striking more like he did last night that changes everything. Last night he used more stand up then we saw from him since before Serra put him out.

He did fight different than usual. Remember that Mike cut him up from the bottom when he took him down tho (which was also suprising )

It was a good fight and a great card.
