Holm had her beat 4 rounds to 1 (be it a 10-8 round) until she got choked out. She is not done.
Yea but Tate isn't great at anything besides taking punches to the face and not giving up. It says something about Holly that she let Tate dominate her on the ground. She was lucky to make it out of the 2nd round. Tate even said Holly went into full blown panic mode after the 2nd and started fighting ultra conservative trying to prevent being taken down again and she still got taken down.

Do you seriously believe Holly is a better grappler than Ronda? Ronda was already hurt by the time she resorted to using her judo and grappling and Holly briefly took Ronda down out of desperation as well. It was more of a clinch that luckily resulted in a surprise takedown because Ronda wobbled her with a punch. Ronda is the best grappler in the division and it's not even close. Let's be serious about it.
I believe Holly is a better fighter. That's why she merked her ass.....

Ronda doesn't even want the media to ask her about fighting rich now.she probably is pregnant or something.it would explain the meatbomb

I would ironically respect Dana more if he just came out and levelled with everyone and said "Look, WE don't care about anything but the biggest fights now, the rest is immaterial, if it isn't what we determine as 'the max money fight' we don't want to do it, MMA legitimacy be damned. We give up, we are just going to do the negatives of boxing we said we never would, because we think we have to cash-in"

Because the double talk about wanting active fighters and then telling them to wait so he can ride their matchups harder to the bank is tiresome and as transparent AF.

I agree with everything here until that last sentence. Holly took Ronda down and avoided Rousey's coup de grâce. Out grappled and out struck her.
I agree for that night.. Ronda was too messed up to grapple with holly

Atto @Atto if you want to clown around and be a desperate troll then get the fuck off of this forum.
Listen dude there is no clowning around .. I am stating the facts . if you get so butt hurt over Holms then you shouldn't be here , she is done and she is exposed . Thanks to Ronda's stupid game plan that made Holly a star for 2 months and she got beaten by miesha who got beaten by Ronda 2 times.. Please now stop, Holms is done, find another who could be champ in future because Ronda is getting that belt again.

I don't think the "blueprint" is out on Ronda yet. She's still the most well rounded fighter in the division. She's obviously not on Holly's level of boxing with her footwork but no one is. The closest to her is Nunes but Holly still looks more polished. I don't think it's a stretch to say Ronda has the hardest punch in the division though and unless her opponent is on the level of a world class boxer who can use movement and footwork to avoid her punches, can knock anyone out. She had Holly hurt momentarily in their also with a punch.

It's easy to say all of Ronda's opponents will duplicate what Holly did but how many can actually do it? How many have championship boxing footwork and precise counter striking ability? I'll say only Holly. Like I said though, Nunes is close to Holly in her striking and movement and even though she gets forgotten by most people I think she has the skills to be the champion and beat anyone, provided she work on her cardio.
Great point there. But what some people seem to forget, is that Miesha was standing with Ronda fairly well, until her horrible gameplan of "bringing the fight" to Rousey overshadowed it. Not exactly a fool proof blueprint, but something to go off of.

Not every fighter is the samw, but worth noting. Pettis was exposed with the constant pressure being a weakness in RDA and Eddie using their wrestling and holding him back. Clay did this as well.

It shows a slight flaw for others to expose if they get the oppurtunity. Ronda, most definitely has worked on this significantly, but the comfort zone/ weakness may rise every once in awhile.

Same with Holly. She may fall into that if she is in panic/dangerous situation.

Not everyone has that footwork, nor the technique, but something to work off of.

I never get why some discredit fighters (or teams) when they beat their favorites. Doesn't it make Ronda look worse if someone goes on to say how "insert negitive criticism here" Holm is after she just finished her in great fashion especailly after such a dominant first round? Or to do the same to Tate after she just beat Holly? The division isn't relatively deep, styles make fights and we now know that all three of them are championship caliber fighters depending who's matched up on a particular night.

If I'm watching hockey playoffs and my team gets kicked out I pray that the team that did it wins the cup to show that we lost to the best there is and not some basement dwellers. I don't understand why fans of Ronda wouldn't speak highly of Holly as it would make Rondas loss much less painful to them.

Exactly. Ronda is (was?) a badass in that cage. To think otherwise wouldn't be truthful to oneself. Holm was the better fighter the night they fought, much like Miesha bested Holm and on and on ad nauseum. You gotta give credit where credit is due.

Or you can talk shit and just make yourself look foolish.

Also curious about that. When Benson beat Edgar, wanted him to go on as one of the best LW's to ever step into the cage.

Usually whomever beats one of my favorites gets a ton of respect and almost instant fandom from me, based on how highly I hold a certain fighter they beat.

I can appreciate Narcosynthesis @Cerberus's dedication to rustling jimmies via subtle trolling. But I think Atto @Atto is dead serious with his love for all things Ronda, and borderline fighter bashing of Miesha and Holly. To each their own I guess, but ffs...a little perspective. These are 3 chics you don't know personally, are likely never going to meet, and who probably wouldn't even have the courtesy of responding to a tweet you sent them.

Just sayin....

Does anyone know / has anyone heard or read anything concrete about either Rousey's return or her acting commitments?
I've been wondering about this too, how much her Hollywood opportunities were linked to her mainstream image of invincibility. Probably pretty tightly.

Fandom bias goes strong in this sport, man. You get people who will argue why a legend will beat a current P4P fighter, despite this is a sport which depends on many variables (timing, preparation since last fight, opponents reaction, person situations, ect ect)

I realized lately, that this sport doesn't have state specific fandoms, or any logic behind it. Fans will stick to a certain fighter and give them all the ultimate unbias/nuthuggery in the world.

And for some reason, thats actually completely okay in MMA. Adds to the drama, comeuppance, ect in the build up to the fight. I will argue the Diaz's will win every fight, even though realistically, the Diaz's will always win (see?)

Its expected for the fan to bash a fighter, despite winning greatly, then falling. Or a fighter talking a disrespectful game, then wimning/losing.

This is our sport's fanbase on the 40-50% side

I take a modicum of pride in knowing that I am unlike the type of fan you just described.

Amen to that. I like to think of myself as that kinda fan. Though tend to argue why the Diaz's or GSP would/will win most fights.

But this is the sport where its inevitable to happen. We had GSP vs Silva/vs Jones vs Velasquez and LW champ vs Jose for a bit. And thats actually why its so great (in a "meta" mentality ).

In a sport so diverse, we somehow developed "state teams". We dont have Texas vs Washington, we had Jones vs Velasquez. We didnt have Red Sox winning the World Series We had Serra upsetting GSP. . We had our own personal favorite fighter rise or not to the ranks. Its some good shit no matter how ya look at it as as a fan.

I suppose it is not entirely without merit. Passionate fans are good for any sport as long as they don't drive off the cliff of obnoxious behavior.

Like any other sport, we are way too late for that to be prevented, but is what keeps things exciting.

Dickheads are gonna dickhead. You're right about that. I'll just keep trying to mitigate it as best I can.

I love passionate fans that remain in the realm of respect for the fighters and each other. Those fans make it a very rewarding experience. :D
