General How Radical Ideology Is Taking Over Maine’s Warden Service

It's gonna be interesting to see how this story develops, I think I know exactly who the warden is that Josh is talking about, she's a bitch. Never answers the radio, have to call her three times on the cell phone before she picks up and is pissed off that you bothered her.
 
Wildlife Officers (game wardens) have the highest incidence of assault.
Always alone, always out numbered, backup is hrs away if your radio even works.

There's a famous story about one thats probably my uncle. He took 8 poachers solo by planting radios all around their camp so they thought they were surrounded.

You need to be tough and smart to do that job.

Wanna here something fucked up? Our forest rangers were technically LEO and could ticket people but were never issued firearms, they never had to go through the academy. Until a small female Ranger came across a vehicle in the woods with two black guys from mass with warrants for murder. We were all scorching to get to her.

That was changed, they now carry firearms and are required to have gone through the academy. They hire already certified people, haven't heard of them hiring someone directly and send them through the academy but the fact they were never issued firearms is insane.
 
I also think its insane that every EMT isn't carrying OC and a collapsible baton at minimum.

Colorado still has unarmed "limited commission" seasonal Rangers working most of their state parks.
Its insanely dangerous to put a badge on someone and give them zero tools or training.
