I have been lurking since the collapse

I am currently sitting on 45 gallons of mead. 15 gallons are generic honey 10 gallons are cherry which is my favorite

My wife enjoys the blueberry which I also have 10 gallons of and then I have two of my father-in-law's recipes which are more herb based.

He taught me how to make it he was very involved in an old school Renaissance group. But I have thoroughly enjoyed it you can get drunk while bottling.

My favorite part is I feel like it's a different type of drunk I feel like you're almost tripping. Definitely not with store bought means but when you make it yourself it is a totally different High

I call having all the tools supplies and know how my apocalypse currency
Nice
Thanks for the post, very motivating

Plastic five gallon bucket, put a cheese cloth over it to keep the flies out, sanitation is key. If you have never brewed before though I would start with this so you don't spoil a batch and make vinegar.

Get this to transfer over to what ever storage jug you want to use. Quart mason jars work awesome and are cheap.

Have you been able to successfully use the 5 gallon buckets I've never been able to keep an airtight seal on them? I bought 10 at one point thinking I could Mass produce LOL I literally just use them for food storage now in the basement. So all of mine are filled with Rices beans and cans as an extra layer of safety

Yeah, they recommend using food grade mineral oil on the seal if you aren't getting a good fit, might be dried out. Vegetable oil will break down the seal quickly.
