If I'm remembering correctly, that guy injured himself really badly attempting that stunt, which he could not fully recover from. He ended up committing suicide due to his inability to continue riding BMX.
Anyone having a passion then losing the ability do whatever that passion is, it would be devastating for them.
It sucks he thought suicide was the right choice. Most people would work at healing and find a new passion
I think young or old one of the best things in life is trying something new
